Still time to sign up! I'm teaching a fabulous workshop "Letterpress: Text is Image" at Penland School of Crafts focusing on press/print ship skills and dissemination of hand-composed information. May 28th - June 9th. Lodging and food are included! Penland is located in the beautiful forests of the Blue Ridge mountains in NC. The above image is my kinetic poem based on the short-cut to grade school where there was an old house we called The Chalk House. We pulled plaster out of the crumbling walls and wrote on them. I was a 5 year old tagger. And the beginning of my obsession with text.Read More

Greeting card available wholesale and retail from Bremelo Press.
This is the first greeting card Bremelo Press ever made.
Saddened to hear today that Bill Sheldon, owner of McGavin's Bakery has passed away. Growing up in Bremerton there was only one place everyone wanted a birthday cake from - McGavin's Bakery - and it had to be their Pink Champaign cake. The last time I was there I met a woman from Portland Oregon, who had grown up in Bremerton as well. She was driving down from a trip to Vancouver Canada and picking up a Pink Champaign sheet cake for her husband's birthday. She told me that when she retired from her job in Olympia her boss had driven to pick up a Pink Champagne cake for the party. Because of the previous 20 years they had been hearing about growing up in Btown and everyone wanting a Pink Champaign cake. She said it was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her.
Greeting card by Leigh Riibe from her Artist Series.
"The fundamental purpose of the heart is to expand and contract"
Sometimes words enter your world to exist for both the highs and the lows. This phrase surfaced when I was heartbroken from my first love. My heart needed to contract and there was no timeline for that. At the same moment I was told I would never love as fully as my first because I would be guarded knowing my past ache. This felt limiting - to prove it false I chose to defiantly love my future partners more and more. To expand.
While running can strengthen your lungs, loving can strengthen your heart.
When my heart stops beating I hope that it is larger than ever before, that it's capacity grows with each breath and feels as full as it feels empty throughout it's lifespan. That it did what was necessary for survival and it did more than it thought it was capable of for love.
